Mzuri Beads
While Supplies Last

All of the beads are made by community art groups of women in Uganda.  They hand roll these beads from old magazine and poster paper, and varnish them for a water resistant and glossy finish.  The beads are unique and vibrant jn color and are made without the use of paints or dyes.  The color is determined  by the selected recycled paper.

(1) A page from a used magazine or poster is measured, (2) and cut into triangular strips.
(3) The strips are tightly rolled around a needle, (4) and a dab of glue holds the bead in place.

The colours are determined by the design printed on the magazine page or poster.   No paint is involved.
Once a handful of beads have been rolled, they are hung on a string and given a thick coat of varnish.  After leaving them for two days to dry, they are complete, with a glossy and protected finish.

We will add in Color Selection and availability when they arrive.  Feel free to e-mail with inquiries and requests.

The beads have been tested and found to withstand extensive time submerged in water.
Whether it is a downpour, bath, shower, water fight, etc.. your beads will survive to tell the tale!
